Bahrain Cancer Society Donates a Mammography Machine to Sitra Health Center in Support of Early Detection of Breast Cancer

In line with its ongoing efforts to promote health awareness and encourage early screening for breast cancer, the Bahrain Cancer Society donated an advanced Mammography Machine to Sitra Health Center in December 2025, with a total value of BHD 52,000, in memory of the late Haji Hussein Al Musaqati and the late Hajjah Laila Al Arrayed.

The handover ceremony took place in the presence of His Excellency Field Marshal Physician Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, Her Excellency Dr. Jalila bint Al Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, a number of Ministry officials, as well as His Excellency Dr. Abdulrahman Ibrahim Fakhro, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bahrain Cancer Society, and members of the Board of Directors.

This donation represents an important step in enabling health centers to provide more advanced and accurate screening services, contributing to the protection of Bahraini women’s health and enhancing opportunities for early detection, which is considered a key factor in the success of treatment.

It is worth noting that the Society’s donations during 2024 and 2025 included the following:

1. Mammography Machine – Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah Health Center

On 30 July 2024, the Society donated a Mammography Machine valued at BHD 52,000 in support of breast cancer early detection programs.

2. Radiology Reading and Reporting Unit – Al Naeem Health Center

On 19 November 2024, the Society donated an advanced Radiology Reading and Reporting Unit valued at BHD 16,000, aimed at improving the quality of medical reports and accelerating diagnostic procedures.

3. Breast Ultrasound Machine – Al Naeem Health Center

On 24 November 2024, the Society donated a Breast Ultrasound Machine valued at BHD 13,000.

4. Grossing Station – Salmaniya Medical Complex

On 3 August 2025, the Society donated a Grossing Station to the Pathology Department at Salmaniya Medical Complex, valued at BHD 23,000.

5. Mammography Machine – Sitra Health Center

In November 2025, the Society donated another Mammography Machine to Sitra Health Center valued at BHD 52,000, in support of enabling health centers to provide more advanced screening services for Bahraini women.

The total value of donations provided by the Bahrain Cancer Society during 2024 and 2025 amounted to approximately BHD 200,000, reflecting its commitment to supporting the healthcare sector and enhancing early detection services, ultimately contributing to improved healthcare outcomes and raising the quality of medical services provided to the community.
