Bahrain Cancer Society Organizes the 2025 Annual Marathon with the Participation of More Than 1,700 People
The Bahrain Cancer Society organized its 2025 Annual Marathon on 25 October at Water Garden, under the slogan “We Are Stronger Together”, with the participation of more than 1,700 people from different age groups. The community event aimed to raise awareness about the importance of cancer prevention and to promote the spirit of solidarity and support for cancer patients and their families.
The event commenced with an opening speech delivered by the Chairman of the Society, Dr. Abdulrahman Fakhro, who welcomed the participants and supporters and expressed his appreciation to all sponsors and volunteers who contributed to the success of this annual event. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of raising community awareness about cancer and highlighted the role of early detection in increasing the chances of treatment and recovery, noting that awareness is one of the main pillars on which the Society focuses its efforts.
Dr. Fakhro also reviewed the most prominent services and programs provided by the Society to cancer patients, including financial, social, and psychological support, organizing awareness and educational programs, and providing assistance to patients and their families throughout their treatment journey, helping to improve their quality of life and ease the burdens they may face.
The marathon witnessed a remarkable and enthusiastic atmosphere, with participants taking part in various race categories in a sporting and social environment that reflected the spirit of cooperation and solidarity among members of the community. The event also featured several accompanying activities and entertainment and awareness programs that attracted families and children and contributed to strengthening the health and awareness messages that the Society seeks to deliver.
The organization of this annual marathon comes as part of the Bahrain Cancer Society’s efforts to raise community awareness, encourage individuals to adopt healthy lifestyles, support cancer patients, and highlight the importance of standing by them, embodying the event’s slogan “We Are Stronger Together”, which reflects the strength and unity of the community in confronting the disease and supporting those affected by it.
At the conclusion of the event, the Society expressed its pride in the large turnout witnessed by the marathon, affirming that the success achieved reflects the awareness of Bahraini society and its eagerness to participate in humanitarian and health initiatives that contribute to serving patients and promoting a culture of prevention and community solidarity.
